Program Details

“The Residency Program is a unique and eye-opening experience. Through situations such as one-on-one meetings with pastors and following up with first-time guests I met over the weekend, I have had the opportunity to experience more practical, every day ministry, than I ever expected. With leaders like Don Wilson, Mark Moore, and Todd Clark challenging me to learn and grow in my leadership practices, I know that this program is preparing me for future success in the ministry. I could not ask for more.”

Evan Risinger

“I am learning leadership skills and specific ministry training that will equip me for a successful future in ministry. I have had the opportunity to gather knowledge and practical advice from key leaders that have a successful ministry. I am grateful for the support and encouragement that I have received during my training and schooling at The Leadership Institute.”

Julia Hernandez

“The Residency Program is such an opportunity not only for me to learn and grow but also be a part of God moving in mighty ways through some amazing ministries. These ministries are reaching the valley for Christ and I’m glad that God has been using me to help do so. It’s been a blessing so far and I’m looking forward to all that is to come.”

Kyle Brown

“The Leadership Institute at CCV has not only challenged and strengthened me as a ministry leader, but most importantly as a servant leader in Christ’s Kingdom. I am getting to work alongside ministry leaders and staff members who really care about me as a person and who are seeking to help prepare me for a lifetime in ministry. I am being taught not only how to do things, but rather understanding the heart of the church and why we do what we do. The Residency Program’s holistic nature encouraged me to grow mentally, spiritually, and as a leader within an incredible support system. I have been blessed in more ways than I expected by how God moved in my life during the Residency.”

HOW CAN THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM BENEFIT ME?

The Residency Program will provide hands-on training in ten competency areas that cannot be taught effectively in a classroom. In addition to high-caliber practical training, we provide three layers of mentorship. Real-world projects with immediate assessment will provide the feedback you need to take into the next level in ministry.

WHEN DO RESIDENCIES BEGIN AND HOW MANY DO YOU OFFER?

Residency begins the last week of July, and run through mid-May for approximately 50 participants at a time in various ministries.

WHAT TYPES OF RESIDENCIES DO YOU HAVE AVAILABLE?

  • Option 1 - Undergraduate Residency: This option is ideal for those entering their fourth year of college. Students continue their education as a CCV resident during their senior year.
  • Option 2 - Graduate Residency: Graduate residents work toward a master’s degree from one of our partnering universities. A completed bachelor’s degree and acceptance into one of the graduate programs is required.
  • Option 3 - Professional Residency: Adult professionals who are not interested in pursuing graduate credit have the option of participating within a non-academic level.

ARE THERE ANY FEES INVOLVED?

  • Tuition for undergraduate and graduate residencies is paid directly to the participating university issuing credit.
  • Residents who are not enrolled with a university partner are required to pay a residency fee to the Leadership Institute.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

College tuition and residency fees cover these expenses:

  • Travel for Life of Christ course in Israel
  • Out-of-state church visit trip
  • Offsite development days
  • Competency trainings
  • Housing expenses
  • Administrative costs

Residents are allowed to raise support for fees and living expenses. Please see the Leadership Institute for guidelines.

WHAT KIND OF JOB-SEEKING SUPPORT IS PROVIDED?

Assistance with resume preparation, interviewing skills, etiquette training, online portfolio development, references, and ministry contacts are provided. It is our intention for every resident to finish the program with a clear direction and ministry preparation. CCV supplies an affirmation certificate upon successful completion of the program. A residency with the Leadership Institute is not designed to be a path to employment at CCV.

All 2013-14 residents experienced 100% placement in ministry (25 residents total in the program)
