Greetings Christ’s Church of the Valley! We are so excited to share our final update and report with you!!
The church has greatly impacted the community, generating a safe place, especially for children who need it. In the Compassion Program these children will experience development in four areas: cognitive, spiritual, social and physical.
The leaders of the mother and daughter church helped identify the children for the program by visiting houses and holding meetings with the community and families.
We held a successful inauguration service where the staff of the center, pastors of the church, the facilitator, Compassion team and representatives, and local authorities attended. It was a great time of celebration together.
This teamwork has impacted not only the children but also the adults of the Palmira community. When they are teaching, the children come to visit and do not want to leave. Political leaders have been impacted and recognize this place for how we care for children. When they saw the work of the church, they were encouraged.
Today we thank God because we are seeing much fruit! We have three large, comfortable and ventilated rooms, where 199 children between 3 and 8 years old are assisted. At least 85% of the children receive nutritional support in a lunch or dinner prepared in the kitchen of the development center. They have also received medical check-ups, special celebration activities and are learning from a curriculum that is useful for the personal development of each child.
85% of the children attend the programs and guided meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. An average of three hundred people currently attend the special services and Sunday school including children. This is awesome! At least 85% of children have received their first lessons on good hygiene practices.
Through the church planting, the impact achieved in the lives of the children has been significant since by caring for the children we also get to care for the whole family. This means that many families have changed their way of thinking and most of the population wants their children to enter the project as it has become a gift from God to the community.
Parents feel motivated by what the church is doing and have been attending each scheduled meeting. Church members are happy to have a large room where they can hold services such as Sunday Schools, fellowship, and weekly services.
Katy Yulieth Mejía Fernández, mother of a child in the program said:
"Now with this new church, I can see a change in my life and in that of my family. My daughter attends a place of refuge, a Development Center. We have a nearby church where we can attend to look for God and I have been encouraged because I have seen the work that has been done. The construction has been a great blessing for many. God has blessed us through this beautiful work, we no longer see a place full of mud as we used to see when we passed by there, but now we see a church that fills my heart with happiness. "
We will work hard to continue this ministry God has blessed us with. Thank you for your generosity and for helping to impact this entire community!!
Pray for the church pastor as he continues to have wisdom in leading this community.
