Greetings Christ’s Church of the Valley! We are so excited to share with you our final report and update as our plant has reached completion!
We have registered 197 kids in the development program! The mother church provided volunteer personnel for homes visits for the children registered. The development center’s staff has all been hired and includes four tutors, two administrators, one director, assurer and program specialist. The classrooms have curricular materials and learning environments ready to go. The rooms have have been decorated by the children!
The inauguration of the New Childhood Development Center was successful! It started with celebration activities, highlighting the first day of classes. The beneficiary children, caregivers, church staff, pastors of partner churches and Compassion Colombia staff all attended the service.
Pastor of the Christian community church El Redil, Raul Moreno said:
"All this has impacted the church greatly; the church is very motivated to win souls for Christ and expand the kingdom of heaven. The parents of the Childhood Development Center El Redil, and the community, feel very happy and surprised by the greatness and beauty of this new place. The caregivers who assist the beneficiaries, together with the staff, also enjoy the new space! The children’s favorite spot is the dining room, where they are served delicious meals!”
The church has started taking the message of salvation to the entire community, where 88 adults and 224 children attend the church. At least 85% of the beneficiary children have attended the classes scheduled for the week. The development center has initiated nutritional monitoring of children for the next 6 months. The food is prepared in the kitchen built in this development center. The children who come for these meals get to share time with friends, strengthen relationships and communication, and learn healthy habits.
Mothers and fathers know how the new development center works and know their right to participate in the orientation of the development center. They attended the first parent meeting that took place in the multipurpose room. We realize how important their involvement is and encourage them to participate.
The beneficiaries were taught good personal hygiene practices, such as hand washing and adequate use of water in the basins installed in each bathroom. This will help their overall health.
We will work hard to take great care of this new space and use it to glorify God. We are so grateful for your generosity and support! Thank you!
Pray for Pastor Raul as he leads this community. Pray for the message of Jesus to transform lives!
