Rescued Not Arrested

Rescued Not Arrested reaches the incarcerated in jails and prisons in Arizona and nationwide with the love of Christ.

Mail Mentoring

Through our correspondence team program, volunteers write to inmates nationwide who have contacted RNA for spiritual help and guidance. As members of the RNA Correspondence Team, our volunteers are given the opportunity to share the love of Christ through mail to those who so desperately need it. As a safety precaution, volunteers do not reveal any personal information to the inmates. All correspondence to inmates uses the RNA office address as the return address. NO PERSONAL ADDRESSES ARE GIVEN OUT. Because volunteers write from the comfort of their homes or offices when convenient to their schedules, there are no set hours.

Face-to-Face Mentoring

Face-to-Face Mentoring involves going into the various local MCSO jails to visit inmates one-on-one. Visits are held in safe visitation areas of the jail where volunteers are separated from inmates by Plexiglass partitions. No physical contact with inmates occurs. Visits are monitored by cameras and detention officers are available for assistance if needed. These visits are requested directly by inmates who want someone to come in, have a Bible Study with them, and pray for them. RNAʼs policy is for women to visit female inmates and men to visit male inmates. Married couples, however, can visit both male and female inmates. No prior experience is required. You will experience the joy and fulfillment that comes from developing new relationships with men and women who are at low points in their lives and watching them grow spiritually as a result of your direct influence through the power and love of Christ.

6-Month Mentorship Program

This specialized program ministers to inmates at Arizona Department of Corrections (ADOC) who have one year or less remaining on their sentences. As a volunteer, you will go into an ADOC facility with a group and mentor inmates to prepare them for transitioning out of prison and back into society. The volunteer “mentors” use a customized, video-based curriculum specifically designed to meet the needs of the inmates. Mentors play a critical role in the lives of their mentees by helping them develop life skills, spiritual disciplines, and relationships to enable them to avoid the vicious cycle of recidivism – returning to incarceration. This truly is the goal of our efforts with the men and women we minister to inside ADOC. If you are interested in challenge and fulfillment, this ministry is just what you are looking for.

Bible Teachers/Preachers

If you are committed to and want to have an active and direct role in the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20, this ministry is for you. Volunteers conduct weekly group Bible studies or church services to juvenile or adult inmates at local MCSO county jails or ADOC state prisons. Studies and services take place in a chapel or classroom where a group of inmates can be accommodated for regularly scheduled meetings at specific times (morning, afternoon, and early evening) during the week or weekend at the different facilities. Meetings are established by the chaplain at each facility. An adequate knowledge of the Bible is necessary and volunteers must be committed, baptized members of CCV. If you want to experience the joy of sharing Christ with a lost world, this is the place to go. If you want to see the Great Commission in action, even to the point of baptizing inmates in jail, this is your opportunity.

Administrative Help

RNA provides thousands of Bibles (over 100,000 a year) to jails and prisons nationwide. It's the largest part of RNA's ministry, but Bibles can't be shipped unless someone first processes the requests. This is where administrative volunteers come in. Volunteers assist with processing Bible distribution requests from jails and prisons across the country, and/or assist with data entry of prayer request cards from inmates who attend RNA church services. Most of this work can be done from the privacy and comfort of your home. Volunteers must be computer savvy.
